The system can:

turn off the heating if a window is open and the heating is on
turn heating to economy level in unoccupied rooms
switch off the power supply to appliances so they are not left on standby
turn lights off when someone leaves a room or area
turn the heating on exactly when it’s needed
set dimmer levels at a maximum output of 80% - the difference is imperceptible
close curtains and blinds at dusk whether anyone’s home or not
activate the garden irrigation system at a certain time every day; if it has recently rained Smart3 will over ride the pre-set command to avoid wasting water
